Bodnant Garden in the Conwy valley, north Wales is probably at its best in May and for the Laburnum tunnel, it was perfect timing during this visit on the 16th May 2011, as the gallery this month shows.
Amsonia tabernaemontana, a north American (central & SE USA) perennial flowering at the same time as Iris sibirica and in similar blue colour ranges. The darker blues such as 'Blue Ice' are especially effective.
