Job description—Treasurer
Job Title:
Treasurer of the Kew Guild
Accountable to:
The Kew Guild Committee.
Role:
To manage and be entrusted with the Guild’s funds, and account for all associated financial transactions and investment portfolios.
Responsibilities:
- Advising the committee on financial matters, both positive and negative.
- Controlling and account for the Guild’s finances, monitoring and recording income and expenditure, and overseeing related bookkeeping.
- Counter signing any major banking transaction.
- Liasing with the external Independent Examiner and handling negotiations with the Guild’s bankers.
- Advising the organisation's management committee of its fiscal needs for the year ahead.
- Preparing the Treasurer's report for the annual general meeting and complete a financial risk assessment in cooperation with committee members.
- The annual submission of archive material to the Guild archives, together with an accompanying schedule.
- Manage papers and prepare them correctly for archiving.

The post holder will be expected to conduct business in a courteous, constructive manner that fulfils the letter and spirit of Guild rules, conforms to all legal requirements, and is consistent with current best practice.
Term of office:
Subject to election at the Annual General Meeting.
