Job description—President Elect

Job Title:

President Elect

Accountable to:

The Kew Guild Committee.

Role:

To become familiar with the Guild's aims, priorities, procedures, workload and with the functions of its officers.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate committee workload and priorities in the context of the agreed Strategic plan, and prepare the ground for anticipated revisions.
  • Develop an attainable suite of working priorities for the presidential year.
  • Help prepare a financial risk assessment.
  • Manage papers and prepare them correctly for archiving.

Working Method:

The post holder will be expected to conduct business in a courteous, constructive manner that fulfils the letter and spirit of Guild rules, conforms to all legal requirements, and is consistent with current best practice.

Term of office:

One year, following election at the Annual General Meeting.
