Awards Scheme Chairman
Accountable to:
The Kew Guild Committee.
Role:
To manage the work of the awards sub-committee and its officers and review working practices in line with the Guild’s Strategic plan and current priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Review proposals, make recommendations and prepare citations for the following awards:
Honorary Membership of the Guild
George Brown Medal
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Awards.
- Report sub-committee recommendations to the Guild Secretary five days in advance of Guild Committee meetings.
- Organise fund raising activities.
- Review reports submitted by CPD awardees, for inclusion in the Journal.
- Prepare an annual report on the Awards Scheme activities for the Guild Journal.
- Help prepare a financial risk assessment.
- Manage papers and prepare them correctly for archiving
Working Method:
The post holder will be expected to conduct business in a courteous, constructive manner that fulfils the letter and spirit of Guild rules, conforms to all legal requirements, and is consistent with current best practice.
Term of office:
Subject to election at the Annual General Meeting.
